About
I grew up in Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!) and attended SUNY Geneseo, graduating summa cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Political Science and minor in Studio Art.
After completing my doctorate at Stony Brook University, I spent two years across the pond in Berlin, Germany as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Global Sociology unit at the WZB—Europe’s largest social science research center—working as a part of the SCRIPTS Cluster of Excellence. At Pitt, I hold courtesy appointments in the Department of Political Science and the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA), and I am affiliated with the Asian Studies Center, the European Studies Center, the Ford Institute for Human Security, and the Global Studies Center.
Outside of academia, I enjoy spending time in nature, traveling, running, and loving up on my two pups, Leila and Luna--who are equal parts companions, research assistants, and frequent interrupters of Zoom meetings. I can sometimes be found moonlighting as a fitness instructor at Renegade Training or singing with the Pittsburgh Pride Choir.
